What Are LDGs?

The Backbone of our Church
Life Development Groups, or LDGs, meet twice a month in different homes throughout the Charlotte area. Each group is hosted by a Freedom House Church member or members, and all groups follow the same curriculum. Each group has its own flavor, thanks to the blend of individuals with unique life experiences and points of view.

Most of the LDG studies are comprised of six lessons. Since LDGs meet twice a month, this means each study is usually completed in three months. Typically each group will watch a brief video together, then follow up with discussion on the topic. Many LDGs enjoy snacks together either before or after the meeting. In fact, most LDGs get together outside their bi-weekly meetings for birthdays, holidays or other occasions.

Besides growing in Christ together, LDGs are an excellent source of friendship and accountability. LDGs often come together to help members who might be going through a tough time. Many LDGs also serve together, whether it's helping to feed the homeless or walking to raise funds for local charities.
